- December 1948 (Showa 23) Former President Akira Hori founded Horiaki Shoten in Tennoji Ward, Osaka City.

1950s Establishment of Horiaki Shoten Co., Ltd.
- October 1954 (Showa 29) Incorporated as Horiaki Shoten Co., Ltd. with capital of 1 million yen.
- December 1959 (Showa 34) Capital increased to 2 million yen. Sales territory expanded from the Kinki region to major cities in Tokai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu.
